Hush

Unseen ripples across the meadow whisper a lyrical ‘hush’
Zephyr comes and steals into the sentinel brush
Complete abandonment to the tug of sentience till sleep arrives

at last

Light is gone
Flashes precede thunders
Grass and leaves dance in violent rituals
Hissing and howling
Spitting and snipping

Unbending
Full length form lay still in the whipping turbulence
As the leviathan of the sky rages
Arms spread out, chin raised up
and lips part to say
“Show me what you got.”
